Lim Pei Yi . Prudential Executive Financial Consultant When I first joined the industry, I didn’t have much expectations for this career. Back in 2012, at age 22, armed with just a diploma Cert, I told Wendy I hope I can make enough monthly to just get by with life.
However, my low self-confidence, introverted nature, and along with my lack of sales skills made starting out as a Financial Consultant an uphill task.
Wendy was there at every step of the way literally in the beginning. She patiently taught me financial concepts word by word, run through potential sales objections with me, and sometimes even went to do door-to-door sales with me after work hours to accompany and show me firsthand how to handle each unique household's financial planning properly, based on their financial needs.
After working under her mentorship for a good 9years, whenever I have any work issues that I need her assistance, as long as I highlight to her, I know I’m in good hands as she will do her best to help resolve the problem as quickly as she can.
Besides being a typical boss who advises on work-related stuff, she goes above and beyond her job scope. She’s always there to motivate and guide me on other life issues, honestly really taking care of me as if I’m her little sister on too many occasions.
I knew for sure I would not have survived this harsh industry if I was under another mentor. Her dedication and genuine care and concern for each of us were what made the difference. I’m really lucky to have met her back then. It’s not too much to say she changed my destiny. So thank you, dear Wendy! |
